That wasmone thi g that surprised me about Alaska, and you can see it in your picture. Alaska reminded me of Utah in the way you are always surrounded by masive Mountains.

The mountains here look different. The Alasak mountains have kind of a smooth, rounded look to them. Utah is very sharp, and pointed. One of the guides there told me this was due to the snow and ice sliding , and tending to round off, or smooth out. Utah he said, was formed more by the wind and it ended up giving a sharper edge.

No idea if this was true, but being I know jack **** about this, it sounded reasonable.

A bit chilly, but still a nice evening ride up Hatcher pass.
I was stationed at Ft Richardson from 02-07. Rode my 06 FZ6 to Hatcher's Pass but didn't think to bring a camera. I loved being in AK.
