Wondering everyone’s opinion on oil filters. I have a 2017 that I’d like to help oil flow at the best rate. I read reusable (metal) filters allow the oil to flow at a faster rate. Let me know what’s best. I’m not looking for most economical or easiest. Thank you.

It's not any different than air filters in most respects. You can either have high flow, or great filtering ability. You don't get both.

Being that this bike doesn't have oil issues we need to worry about, the stock filter makes good sense.

Does your bike run hot? My bike is 2 “bars” from the max (overheat) idling normally. The radiant heat from exhaust pipes is enough heat to melt passenger shoes if they have their feet on foot pegs. I’ve rebuilt the cooling system but still find the same, but it is over 90-100 degrees here most of the time.

Sounds about right if you're going slow or stopped in traffic. The catalytic converter runs HOT and if the air isn't flowing 25-35 mph or so, the heat just pours up from it. This time of year here (40-50 degrees F) it feels pretty good! But in the hot summer it's pretty toasty.

If you let the bike idle long enough, it will go upto the max-1 bar before the fan kicks in after which it will come down 1 bar and keep bouncing between max-2 and max-1 bars... That's how my 2017 has been since the day I bought it
