While wearing A Bright Green shirt, On a Bright Green Bike. Along with a shirt that has reflective orange and white, Headlight activated reflection, A Cager still almost changed my life. I have and will always do constant checks while waiting to turn Left, until I see the driver Stop. So I was in gear, and ready on the throttle as You will see my hand go W.O.T briefly.
Please tell all loved ones..... Look for us. We are out there, and without the Luxury of a 3 thousand pound safety barrier. RIDERS...... Be Vigilant, Stay Alert:eek:!!

WOW! That was way too close. Glad you survived that one...

One thought....With signaling so early. Did she (or guy) possibly think you were the typical motorcycle rider who was going straight, but left their turn signal on?
dahhhng. Very close call.

I have a usual route that requires me to turn left off of a 55 mph 2 lane sort of highway. With a blind hill behind me. I always cringe evertime I make the turn. I also always make a huge "turn left" gesture with my left arm and keep it out there as long as I can. It's scary no way how you do it.

Very close call buddy. Drive Safe !!
My signaling early is a standard for this area. People tend to fly here... Not only did she see me signal, I flashed my brake lights several times. She was just not paying attention. She was behind me for awhile so she actually saw when my blinker came on i'd imagine. Not a case of failure to turn off blinker biker here.
I really think she thought she could squeeze by me, then realized a car to her right. When I turn Left I go far right in the lane first so no one tries to squeeze past and nipp me in the leg. Worked out well.... Just thought Id share.
You can try to defend against a ton of things.... but you can't fix stupid.

I almost waiting to get hit in the rear while turning.

Almost Smack

I try to keep a 360 degree scan going when I have to stop and turn left...like it was said...pay particular attention to the area behind the bike at least until a vehicle is stopped a safe distance behind....tail gatters don't count
My first thought was signalling too early, you passed several left turns with your turn signal on;; that said you had oved well to the left and there was plenty of space to your right so I really dont's see what their problem was. **** good skills on hearing the noise behind and avoiding the rear shunt though.

Thanks, And I only signaled At the turn before mines. Its just a 25mph Zone. Early is better than late in my book.
What? Why pay attention? It's just a bike in front of me .....
