Prospective 2013 N1K buyer, have questions.

Hello everyone,

In the next couple of weeks, I am going to be purchasing a 2013 N1K ABS. However, I have a dilemma, which is I REALLY do not like the white/black color scheme. But for the asking price of $7998, it's hard to turn down (beggars can't be choosers), considering I am upgrading from a Ninja 500. In a perfect world I would want the Green/Black color scheme.

So my question is, what experiences has anyone had with having their bike re-painting, or buying the desired color fairings in aftermarket? Will it come out still looking nice? Can paint shops match the Kawi Green color? When it comes to buying pre-painted fairings, the only problem would be the Fuel Tank being completely white.

Any advice on how to go about this?

Thanks,

The 2014's are not much more if you find a dealer that has some. To be honest, with what you would pay to have a brand new bike painted and get it done right, you would be better off buying the 2014 in the green. The color you actually want. I rented a 2013 a few months ago and that is what got me into this bike. I just got my blue 2014 abs 3 weeks ago. So I am new to this too. I can tell you that there is NO comparison in the 2013 to 2014. For the little more that you will pay for a 2014, you get the color you want, the ABS, traction control, higher end top gear (makes a HUGE difference for comfort on the highway) and the optional integrated bags. I think you should just get the bike you really like and not look back. The 2014/2015's are that good.
Thank you for the tips. That actually makes my purchase decision more difficult, lol. At one point I could deal with the color, but now that you mention the upgrades, I may just wait until some 2014s come available in my price range. Guess I'll stick to the 500 for now.
Several people have reported getting the 2014's for as low as 8995. For basically 1K it's no brainer.

Use could use that information to work on the 2013's price but it doesn't sound like you are 100% on that bike so get what you want and don't settle.
The lowest I have been able to find the 2014s for, is $9498, but it's only from one dealer that is within 200 miles of me, and that dealer is sold out. It's actually the same dealer that is offering the 2013s for $7998. Everywhere else is asking $11,299 for 2014 and 2015 models, although most don't even have 2014s in stock.
I bought my 2014 in October/November and paid 11 and change with the boxes. Guys lately have been getting them for around 9 (maybe without boxes) not sure, but thats an awesome price. If you are anywhere near West VA there is supposedly a really good dealer down there that has great deals. I don't know the name off hand.. but someone on here probably does.

Ridersville cycle is the dealer you're talking about. Harold is the #6 kawi dealer in the country by volume. I bought my 14 from him for 8499 in January without bags. He will probably sell a 15 for under 10 at this point in the year.
hey guys is the 2013 no ABS? it lists as having it
2013's had ABS as an option. So check the bike you're looking at. 2014+ ABS is standard.
