I have a 2013 Ninja 1000. I was in a traffic jam for about 20 minutes. Clutch on, clutch off... repeat 100s of roll, move 10 feet, stop.

After the jam broke up, I was lucky to find a hole leading to the carpool lane, and I took the bike up to 70 for the next 15 miles.

The first mile or two, the bike would make a loud pop out the exhaust. I wasn't decelerating. I was accelerating and maintaining.

Could this be because of a build-up of fuel in the exhaust... that occurred in the traffic jam? Wouldn't that clear out entirely in a couple puffs? This went on for about two miles. Then after that, the rest of the ride home was clean running.

It's an all stock bike. 2400 miles.
Any thoughts on what to check?

popping while accelerating = rich mixture, left over gas.
Check your air filter (if it's clogged), and check your idle if it's too low.
Did it come out of storage? Seafoam should help.

dont pour that seafoam **** in your practically new bike. If your bike does not have any more issues after your rode it then it is perfectly fine.
