In an abundance of caution, I used a copper crush washer on the oil drain plug. When it came time to change the oil again the crush washer had become an immovable object, nor could I pry a screwdriver between it and the bolt head. I installed it with the old crush washer still on it.
Do I really need to use a crush washer? Any advice on removing it?

I would replace the drain bolt and crush washers with a new one if it was mine.

Nope, and unless it does I'm not going to mess with it. Just the excuse I need to buy a sturdy vice from Horrible Freight and give that piece of copper a lickin' I'm thinking hacksaw or chisel & hammer.

I bought 10 Aluminum Oil Plug washers on eBay for a few bucks when I bought my bike in May. I've already used three... I've always re-used before though and never had an issue!

You have to use crush washers. Ive had good luck removing old ones with a wood chisel. It will drip if you dont use one.
