Ninja's Soft Limit...

The Ninja 1000's rev limiter is soft. Meaning the engine is able to over-rev slightly, even gracefully one may say, and there is no sudden drop off in power as typically happens when you bounce off the red zone. Anyone who's hit the limit through a corner should appreciate this little piece of tech ;)

Isn't bad form to over rev the bike? I wouldn't think that is good for the bike, or good for riding. I guess that is why they added this tech though.

You'd have to be pushing the bike pretty hard to get it to max rev around a corner, no?
it would be aggressive riding. but if you are midturn and very close to the rev limiter the last thing you want to do is hit it when accelerating out of a turn early.

exactly, and flipping up a gear is going to throw off where you are in the power band, especially with the Ninja making most of its power above 8K...
Good tech at least it saves riders from doing any damage and maybe have an engine with a longer life that experiences less problems.
