Just discovered the site. Been riding for 35 years or so and have owned nothing but Hondas and Kawasakis along the way. My last bike (prior to the current '11 N1K) was an '03 ZRX1200. I had 2 of them & loved them both but felt it was time to step into the 20th century. So far the N1K hasn't disappointed.

My all black '11 has a few mods- Yosh cans, Sargent seat- but plans for many more! It's all held up because I'm in the process of relocating from Ft. Lauderdale/Broward Co. to a few counties north, up in Martin Co.

Looking forward to reading what others are doing w/their N1K.

Good choice, especially since you're stepping into the 21st century.;)
Welcome

There's no rush...you can enter the 21st Century when you're ready.

I lived in Jupiter for a while. Are you going to Hobe Sound or Stuart?

Meh, the jury is still out on that one!

I often tell folks that I'm a man of the 90's- the 1890's that is. Don't need no high tech phone attached to me 24/7, altho I do admit to liking indoor plumbing & toothpaste.

All three are great towns in a great region of SoFla. I'll be moving onto the west side of the St. Lucie River, in Palm City. The pace is a lot slower up here, the people a tad more polite & there's still a touch of southern charm left. Can't say all that about the Broward/Miami-Dade area anymore.

You have to go north to get to the South.

Now that's a new oxymoron.

I too have an N1K 2011 in red and love my bike. The main mod I did was to switch to handlebars to pull them back to the limits of the brake and clutch cables. Sargent seat too and a tall windshield for touring.
I just got my Sargent seat but haven't had a chance to try it out. Got it $50 off because of a deal the N1K riders over @ riderforums.com arranged. This will be my 4th Sargent seat so I think I know what to expect.

I plan to turn my bike into a lightweight ST, ala the Triumph Sprint ST. Just picked up a set of Kappa bags & will further add some Driven grips, a Throttlemeister and a National Cycle Vscreen to increase comfort. After that, I may add Ivan's latest power package but we'll see. Comfort & practicality first; it's not like this bike really needs more power but by all reports, the Ivan's package transforms certain aspects of performance to make the bike even smoother.
