After being off a bike for about 10 years, I decided to get back into it. My last bike was a Ninja ZX6. Picked up my '14 Candy Cascade Blue N1K last Saturday. Looking forward to being a member of the forum.

Welcome all season/great weather rider. How's your saddle feel...and the N1K seat?
So you came back to a sporty yet more mature ride.

My 55 year old rear end is not liking the seat very much. Already have been looking at alternatives. Might be asking santa for a gel seat for Christmas.
You can check out a few threads about replacement seats.
I got the kawi gel seat from amazon. It feels better. The passenger seat has "Ninja" emblazoned on the front.
Welcome & I agree on the seat. What other mods are you considering? Did you get the factory hard bags?

I did not get the bags. I'm thinking if I really feel that I need them I can buy them later. Dealer offered me "sales department cost" on them, just over $1000. The only other mod I'm considering are the bar risers. I've always kept my bikes pretty much stock. I spend too much money on modding all my other toys. :)
Welcome to the forum, fellow sunshine rider! I'm with you on the seat, but feel a bit of a wimp on that score when riding with a similarly mature friend who rides a stock ZX-10R and really knows how to ring it's neck! That said, he does stop for regular "smoke breaks"!!!!
I can not reccommend highly enough my Laam seat. Seth Laam is in Redding CA too. A ride in appt maybe??

Combine that with the Murphkit risers and I have an all day machine.
I don't have a problem with handlebar position, just the seat comfort,, even with my generously padded rear!!! Seriously, it's not like I feel like there is exessive pressure/weight on my wrists at low speeds, just seat related on longer rides!

I'm gonna look that up right now. Thanks for the suggestion.

P.S. Redding would be a LOOOONG ride from where I am. ;)
Be patient with Mr Seth. He is hard to get ahold of at first but once you do you'll be well rewarded with a great seat made by a super nice guy.

www.laamseats.com is his web site.
