Morning, all. Bought myself a 2012 with 733 miles on it last week, black/silver. Last bike was an R6, was looking for something still sporty that I could tour on as well. So far all I've done is ride it home and charge a dead battery. Hoping to get an hour in today on two.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I've got the silver/black combo. Old fart, you look like you're in a pretty great spot yourself for some good riding there in Crossville, and you and I are about equidistant from Deal's Gap as well. Can't wait to get her in the mountains, though.
ToNY97, so far I'm liking the bike. I'm sure I'll dig it more once I get it out of the break-in and can get deeper into the rev range. I took it out for an hour yesterday, and other than needing a little suspension setup, it's pretty transparent. I'll take care of that over the weekend.
One thing I am enjoying is that other than the fuel injection, it's still pretty basic. (I have a non-ABS model). I wasn't really looking for traction control, ride modes, ABS, or any of the other high-tech that has creeped into current machines. Not saying there's anything wrong with those things, it just wasn't something I wanted.

Welcome John, I second ToNY's sentiment about the gentleman's upgrade! I think you have done the right thing by going for one before the gadget-fest that was introduced for the 2014 model. OK, the remote adjustment on the rear suspension and the "passing" switch for the front light are useful additions, but the rest may have their place for less experienced riders, there is no better traction control than a sensitive right wrist and backside!! Enjoy your ride and your time on the forum, we're a spirited but friendly bunch!
