Another forum joined, good grief. "Vegasrider" is my handle for all the forums, I use to live in Vegas. Just purchased a new 23' SX last week, haven't ridden it yet, waiting to get it registered with the DMV. I also own a 14' Ducati Multistrada which has been my everyday ride for the past 8 years but it just broke down last month. Looking at a $4000 repair. Part of the reason why I got the SX, My motorcycle has been my only ride for 17 straight years, so I have not owned or had access to a car unless I rent one. I'm also a MSF Rider Coach coaching for the local community college so I just couldn't show up to class without a bike. I was fortunate to pay below MSRP out the door, excluding taxes but had to go to California to go get it. Turns out I should have just paid over MSRP and gotten the bike locally after what I went through to get the bike. But it appears there is a shortage of bikes and the dealers who have 'em charging way over MSRP. And they are currently not transferring bikes between dealerships because getting any bike today, is difficult.

As far as my riding, I'm a daily commuter. Not a track guy, but I do like motogymkhana and doing police motor patterns, riding and training with the cops, and even competing with them unofficially. We will see how the SX will handle inside tight quarters.

Welcome! I hope you got chains for that Ninja! I have relatives in Reno and they tell me they're up to their necks in snow with more coming all the time.

I get your part of the world has allot better weather than mine, but not having a car for 17 years is still pretty impressive.
Enjoy the bike when you can finally get to ride it.

Vegas would be tough to not have a car. Winter would be reasonable, but summer would be as bad as Houston, almost, except it's easier to get drunk in Vegas. Maybe that keeps Houston at the number 1 slot?

From Cedar City, ut to St George Utah you drop @4000 ft elevation in @ 45 miles. It's a fun ride as it feels like someone reflashed your motorcycle. It gets more powerful and responsive as you lose altitude.

The bad part is hitting a wall of heat somewhere along the way. The temp increases 10-20 degrees within a mile or so.
