Hello!

I just purchased a new 2012 Ninja 1000 after selling my 2004 ZX-12R. I'm a bit more growns up now and wanted a more comfortable bike and I certainly found it in the 1000! I'm looking for mods on here but there aren't any real posts about who sells accessories for our bikes. I hate the exhaust and I also dislike the clear windscreen. I found and like the Yoshi fender eliminator kit which I will be installing tonight but other than that I have not found much at all. Any help would be appreciated.

welcome aboard, post up some picks of your 1000 when you get a chance, also would love to hear and see more about your ZX12R, those things are pretty rare round these parts. Did you mod the ZX at all?

Anyways on to your question, check out RevZilla 'ninja 1000' search results - RevZilla they have a ton of goodies including a really good selection of slip ons from Leo Vince, Akrapovic and Yoshimura. Plus a couple full systems...
Thanks

Blue,

My ZX-12R was highly modded and was putting out over 180hp. It was an absolute monster of a bike. It really just came down to the desire for more comfort. The bars are still pretty low on the 12 and it was causing back issues on every ride. I will post some pics of it on here soon as well as pics of the new 1000. Thanks for the info on Revzilla!

thats pretty awesome, did you do a baseline dyno run before doing power modifications to it? i'd love to see a video of it, even if it's just sitting their and idling.
I sure wish I would have saved all that stuff but I just didn't. Everything I had was on a hard drive from a few years ago that failed. If I am not mistaken I believe the ZX-12R of the 2004 range was supposed to be near 150-160hp but I am not certain of that. All I can say is that it was one seriously bad *** bike. However, the new 1000 is so much more comfortable to ride!
So are you going to sell the 2012 for the new 2014? :D

Makes sense to me :D

The 2014 Ninja 1000 is just one bike that's hard to pass up on. Even 2013 Ninja 1000 owners might feel that they need to sell out for a 2014 model.
After riding around on a ZX-12R for 9 years, the 2012 Ninja 1000 is plenty of bike for me and I hope it stays that way for quite some time. I paid $8200 out the door which helped me make my decision so much easier. The 2014 is just way more than what I wanted to pay to get back on a bike. I have over $3000 to put into my bike in accessories and mods that I didn't have to give Kawasaki or the dealership. They really wanted to move their last new 2012! :)

At least now you know what your not missing out on. I think anyone that owns a 2012-2013 model doesn't need to upgrade.
you got a great deal on the 2012 though. $8200 is a steal!

With a deal like that it's probably best to keep the 2012 model rather than getting the 2014 unless you really feel like you're missing out on something.
