New to the forum here. Short story. Last year I bought my first bike, a 2013 White Ninja 650 and last Friday I traded it in on a new 2014 Blue Ninja 1000. Made an 8 hour round trip to pick this one up. Definitely worth the drive since I only paid $8999 for it and saved about $1500 from what the local dealers here wanted. I think I got an awesome price on what so far, about 60 miles on it, is an awesome machine. Not really looking to change much, if anything, on it right now but I think we all have said that before. Still adjusting to the extra power, almost double that of the 650. Wow, I do like it though.

Welcome

Welcome to form..looks like my bike:)
Welcome to the forum! Great deal on a great machine.
Welcome to the forum and well done on the upgrade, you won't regret it!
Nice machine. Just make sure follow the braking process, check the chain adjustment after 200 miles, change the oil after 600 miles. Enjoy the awesome machine. Ah... do not lose the respect, is a powerfull machine. Welcome to the forum !!!
Zeus is 100% correct. My chain was loose and needed to be tightened at 145 miles. Also the header bolts. They loosen up too.
Welcome. Great Investment.
Welcome

Would like to hear more about your journey from the N1K's little brother.
Mpg decreases when it's taken from the back of your truck.
That's an awesome price!! Ride fast but safe.
So, this is what my journey started out with last summer. Put just about 4700 miles on it before trading it in. Mostly highway miles between Oklahoma and Arkansas. One of the reasons I wanted to step it up a little and went with the 1000. The 650 was actually my first bike and would recommend it to anyone looking for a entry level ride. In fact if it wasn't for all the highway riding I do I probably would still own it. It was a great around town bike. Very easy to ride and maneuver on city streets. I also got an awesome price on this bike. I paid $5200 for it at the same dealer. Wasn't even considering it since MSRP was above my spending limit. And yes ToNY97 mpg has decreased since I have taken it out of my truck. Have about 900 miles on it know and loving it.
