Just installed akropovic slip on tonight. Very easy and looks great. At some point after a bunch of miles Ill most likely add the header and tune.. only 260 miles on her. Ny weather sucks....bought feb 4th with 105 miles.

What do you think of the sticker? Should I leave it on? I also have the bags but took them off for now.

Make sure you ground yourself before removing it, you don't want sticker shock!

Geez, I need to get out and ride...staring out at bright sunshine😎, 32 degrees and heavy frost...🥶

For a lot of brands I would take it off, but with Akropovic I like the red and yellow against the black. I think it pops, so obviously if I got an Arkrovopic I would leave it on.

How did you remove the db killer? I always hated cutting and drilling expensive parts. That one doesn't look like it's easy to access?

For Akro's, I think the difficulty depends on your particular exhaust. The way I did mine:

1. There is a gap (red) between the metal and carbon fiber. If you shine a light down the gap then follow it around you should be able to see where the bolt is assuming your exhaust's gap goes all the way around.
2. If you can see the bolt you should also be able to identify the hole outline (blue) for it.
3. Once you know where both are just take the appropriate measurements then drill in from the carbon fiber (yellow) side. I was able to reach it using a 3/8 drill bit.
4. The bolt is on TIGHT so a torque wrench may be necessary. Just be careful not to strip it - I almost did.
5. Once the bolt is removed I used a wrench to grab the 2 center exhaust metals and wiggle the db killer out.
6. Afterwards, I used rubber grommets to cover the drill and bolt holes.

Hope that helps!

Your work looks really clean. I like rhat.

Was the bolt holding the baffle welded, or just super tight? I suppose stock would have been considered permanent as you had to drill the access hole?

My leo Vince system had this exact way of locating the baffle, and removal was the same. This was before it was a federal crime to remove the baffle, though.

I don't know how they put the bolt on but it was on SUPER tight. As I mentioned before I pretty much stripped the bolt, but I must have just gotten the last of the remaining grip because it finally loosened. The bolt is pretty much dead, though.

I think there is something in the euro 5 regulations that says "tamper resistant"...they didn't want that to be removed. It's nice to see them lose.
