First I want to say thanks for all of the excellent information that is on this forum. I have a couple of ideas of what I want to do with my bike and where I want to go with it.

I joined a little bit ago when the Ninja 1000 piqued my interest. It started first by SaltTheWound's videos, and secondly by my boss's recommendation on what I should look at buying.

Then I went to a "local" dealer and checked out the 2015. I was in love instantly with it in black. I proceeded to set myself up to buy. Over the month it took me before I was ready to purchase, the price had increased $1,300USD. I was not going to pay that extra $1,300USD.

So I did a quick Craigslist search and found a 2014 with 1,266mi (listed). This forum and Google helped me find what little differences (are there any?) between the 2014/2015.

But it's green! I'm NOT a fan of green...

And it's growing on me...

Rode it home, of course. What fun is buying a bike to only have to trailer it back?
Bike started with 1396mi when I picked it up, now has 1449mi on it. It's excellent. Even though it was raining I was very happy with the entire ride - granted, gear helped with that.

Anyways, I could go on and on. Very excited about the bike, how it rides, and the future I will have for riding it.

Nice! Welcome. You will love the bike... every once in awhile I get "newbikeitus" and I start looking around for a new one, but I can't find anything that does so much and as well as the Ninja 1000.
Welcome. I never stop with newbikeitus Sprokethead :)

And I still see nothing better!

https://www.youtube.com/user/SALTxTHExWOUND Is a big reason I got so excited about the N1K. His vids fired me up!
I'm infatuated.

I've put 101 miles on it already. Mind you, I didn't pick the bike up till 4pm yesterday, and church soaked up most of my morning.

The only bad part, it has all been wet. I'm still learning the bike. I've kept it on L/3 for the sake of safety/control on the wet. It feels so competent though.
I got mine in March and have 4k miles on her this year. I've only ran L/3 once just to see what it would do. I typically run H/1 unless I'm feeling inspired, then switch to 0. What part of the country you from? It's been raining here all day too, super bummed after being gone all week I'm having withdrawals.
D'oh, I thought I put that in my profile. I guess not.

I'm in central NC - Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem are where I'm stomping around right now. I can't wait to go further north when the weather is dry. So many excellent roads.

I put in more miles since my last post. I went to the place I bought my helmet (Ironworks in Greensboro, awesome guy) and he was there tinkering with a old Kawi. He invited me to a charity event they were having at a local biker bar. So me being me, I rode up there. :p
Welcome

Green isn't my first choice either but it's sacred to Kawi.

I agree Tony, but for the price I couldn't refuse! That, and I figured if it bothered me a lot, I could always refinish it (considering my profession, easy)

But.... it's really growing on me.

Same here. Rode Harleys for 25 years and was looking for something new. Watched ALL of his videos and now own a 2013
I'm surprised SaltxThexWound isn't on here actually.
