Hello, new member!
I have just registered to your site. My user name is Checkered Demon and I've been riding scooters for about 47 years. I've owned all sorts of bikes, mostly Jap makes and I reckon I've owned about 45-50 bikes in that time. Soooo, I guess you could say that I'm a fairly experienced rider.
I'm currently riding a 97 Bandit 1200, have owned 4 or 5 of them in the past 10 years or so. I'll probably keep this bike for another 3-4 years and then I'll be looking to move up to a 2015 - 2017 N1K. By then I figger the prices will be down around $4k - $5k including bags and a decent Corbin or Sargent seat and the usual bling that most riders add to their bikes. FYI, I almost never buy new bikes, I like to let the other guy take the depreciation - heh, heh.
I live in So. Fla. right now, but I figger I'll be moving up to the Blue Ridge Mt. area - I own 3/4 of an acre up there and I'm gonna build a nice log cabin so I can tear up the local roads around TN, GA, NC and such. I can hardly wait to do some strafing of the BRP, The Dragon, Cherohahla, etc. And there is *nothing* I like better than seeing a local Smokey throw on his blue lights in an effort to show me where the nearest WalMart is. Such helpful fellas they are!

Welcome aboard CD... I like yer thinkin' on the log cabin deal.
That's a different bike strategy from mine. I generally buy new, spend huge on mods, ride it for 1-2 years then on to something different.
