Hello from Texas

Hello everyone. My name is Brandon and I've been riding for 10 years. Been riding my '01 VFR for 8 years and have been looking for a friend to keep my girl company. I did have an '09 ER-6N but sold her when I bought a house and she deserved someone that would ride her more. I do more long distance rides so the vfr got dibs.

So I've had my eye on a new '14 that's just sad being at the dealership. She's a lovely blue with saddlebags. Salesman said they'd do $10,980. I'm thinking they can do better since it's technically 2 years old and been sitting. I'm trying to get a "great" deal so justify the purchase since it's not a need. What's is ya'lls suggestion on a price I should shoot for?

Glad to meet ya'll and hope to be a fellow N1000 owner.

Hey welcome aboard Brandon! Honestly thinking that's not too bad a price since it includes saddlebags, but I'll wait until other folks weigh in. I bought my 2012 in the summer of 2011 for $12,000 OTD. The prices have come down on this bike while the included farkles have gone up.. gotta love that!
Welcome! Is that an 'out the door' quote?
Welcome Lone Star (I'm enjoying Texas Rising on History Channel)

It's been a while since I had to dealer shop our bike, but OTD with factory bags seems good to awesome. The longer you wait the lower the price but it also increases the chance that someone else will realize the value.
Show your interest and have cash ready for a down payment. Go on a rainy day at the end of the month.

Yes. I was thinking of getting them down to $10500.
He countered with $10,750 and I said $10,650 is the highest I'll go. Waiting on a call back.
That's a good price. Take it for $10750. In the big picture that's nothing. These bikes are gaining in popularity as the best all around bike. I'd jump on it.
As you can see by my avatar....I bit the bullet too. Mine was $11200 OTD with bags.
Settled on$10,650. Will probably go pick her up next weekend since they waited till the last minute to accept and now my bank is closed and crap weather is heading my way.

O well still got a hyosung GT650r Im flipping to work on to keep me busy.
I guess that's another thread but that Korean bike would be interesting.
Kia/Hyundai have made great strides and compete well with the Japanese car makers but Hyosung is another story?

Naw. This one was mistreated and not maintained.

They have their problems like any bike. **** my vfr has the same crappy R\R problems. Of course easily fixed with a Yamaha R\R.
fellow Texan, there are a couple of new 2013's in west virginia for like $7900.
at least a short time ago. someone posted pics recently.
but 10,650 w/bags not too bad for 2014.
I went the cheap route and paid $100 for moto centric soft bags.

Thanks but dont feel like going that far to get a bike. Plus I like the updated stuff on the 14.
Congrats on your great decision. Good price IMHO.
Welcome! I bought my 2014 last month with side cases and a two year extended warranty for $10,423 OTD. I still had to pay sales tax of course at the DMV.
Bank has everything ready to go with the dealer. Now just waiting for the weekend so I can hit the road. Only sucky thing is my insurance doesnt kick in till Monday (want te added discounts) so no joy riding. My dad was all sad when I told him. He hasnt ridden since we went on vacation back in April.
