Heated Gear Wire Routing

I'm about as close to ordering an electric jacket/liner as you can be as it was 33F this morning on my way to work....

The last thing I'm trying to figure out is how are those of you with Electric heat running the wires?

I can handle wiring up a relay with switched 12v to run fused power from the battery..

What I can't figure out is how to run the wire from under the seat up to where I can connect it to the jacket? I can't run it in front of the seat since it's so close to the tank.

The only option I've figured out is running it out behind the driver seat and have it come out under where the rear seat would be. I have a cowl (no rear seat) that I could modify to give it a spot for the wire to come out without getting pinched...

I'd appreciate any input on this as this is about the last thing holding me up from ordering....

I wired a little circuit panel into the battery. I run my gear of the switched terminals. Another option is to use a FUSED battery tender connection and use it for your gear when not using the battery tender. That works quite well.

I also wired my heated grips to this same panel. I am so glad I did the grips as it helps a lot as I don't always have my heated gloves with me. It is amazing how much cold I can tolerate if at least my fingers aren't numb when I ride...

What kind of gear are you using? PM me if you plan on using warmnsafe gear and I can give you a discount code to order from their site.

But, how do you get the wire from under the seat to connect it to the jacket? I can handle wiring up the switch and relay etc (I've done some interesting analog wiring on my wheeling rig) but I don't see a good way to get the wire "to the jacket".

You gave me the code already and I'm about as close to ordering as I could be.

What stopped me was they didn't have my size in the 65 watt rev 4... Now I've had more time to think (never a good thing) and I couldn't see a way to run the wire.. AND I can't tell which side of body the connection is on the warmsafe liner..

I was thinking 65 watt since it makes buying the liner/controller less painful (I've already spent way over my fun money on the bike) AND I don't ride in anything < 32f (I don't like Ice, plus I'm in the desert)..

I just run the wire out under the seat on the left side near the front. The wire from the jacket is on that side too and it's easy to connect. Just be aware that if you stand up on the pegs when you are riding it will disconnect. :)
