The fender eliminator is my first mod. My new 1000sx should arrive any day now. I'm looking at Blaster X from Custom LED. Would love to hear critique on this model and any suggestions for similar products. My priority is Safety, brightness, plug and play and programmability.
Anxiously awaiting my delivery!

That blaster x is a good one. Get the optional programming switch with it. You dont need the switch, but it's fun to mess with.

I bought the Blaster x after following a zx6 that had one. I think it was more bright than stock, and the color was crisp and sharp. It really stood out. It only costs 20-30 more than the lower quality ones and is well worth the extra money.

Mine was just the light. It wouldn't have been able to eliminate the fender as it didn't have the license plate support portion. I looked on their site and that's all I saw for this bike .

Thank you for your input. It seems strange that there is not a license plate support or light to go with it. But I'll recheck and see if that is available now. Safe Riding!

I agree. It's confusing.

Go back and read the description of what you bought. We should mention this to them. The owner of the company is a cool guy and he will fix the wording if we say something.

Im sure you bought this....well, this or the clear version? Go to the installation instructions. It talks about needing additional hardware to remove the fender.

I'm not complaining as the light is worthwhile but you still need this, or similar.

The plate flipper device is a great choice. I'm not sure where you are from, but the USA driving laws dont like them

If/when you are caught flipping your plate, it makes whatever you were pulled over for looks like kids stuff.

Just having the device would get your bike impounded. Way more if you were caught using it.

After a DUI check point, I was forced to study this fender elimination topic . I had a fix it ticket, so I had to make my bike legal. No choice of leaving it as is. I was missing the reflectors. If I had the reflector below the plate, I would have been ok, probably, but with all three MIA, it was a problem.

The fender eliminators are legal if they meet the legal spec. That isnt hard to do.

You need to have the license plate light and the reflector below the plate. Turn signal spacing has to be 9 inches, center to center. Our integrated lights wouldn't be legal.

You also need the side reflectors, if you show a picture to a judge.

Whatever you buy, make sure that you can be behind the machine and read the plate.
My muzzy fender eliminator just needed the reflectors added to be 100% legal. I used a plate frame from

I like the fact that you can leave the turn signal holders off if you use an integrated light with the moto dynamics fender eliminator set. Do you call it a "set" if there is only one? I don't know....like "pair" of gloves, but only people with missing hands wear one glove. Or, Michael Jackson.

The motodynamics light is fine, but it's not as bright and sharp as what Blaster X sells. Probably no big deal, but if this flashing idea is supposed to be a safety thing, might as well have the bright one?
