If still available towards end of month, I am interested. Good luck with sales.
Buying used always carries a risk, but in this case??? You owned the seats for a good 15 minutes. Having to call these "used" really is not fair.

I wish I did not own them already, or these would be sold. Bargain price for what amounts to brand new.

Same here... :) I am a fan of the gel seat, just need to be sure to cover them from the sun in the summer with your jacket when you are not riding. They will retain heat. In the winter on a cool sunny day it's kinda nice... just let the sun shine on the seat while you are having lunch and the first hour or so in the afternoon it's like having a heated seat.

The gel seat is great for me for up to a full day of riding. On long trips, I use the Airhawk with the gel seat and I can log multiple long days without a sore azz no problem. The Airhawk dual sport is the best fit for our bikes.
For me the gel seat doesn't address the forward slope of the seat. I wish they had done something different with this in both the stock and these seats.

I tried a Airhawk dual sport at a shop and it didn't seem like a great fit, maybe you had better luck with it Sprockethead.

As for the year of the seat, I think Buelligan had a 2014 NIK. From what I read, pretty much from 2011 on will work with some minor "adjustments" for the earlier seats (pre-2014) to fit the later ones with the new rear subframes.
2014+

Trippin is correct, it mounts in the same location, and has the same slope.
I resolved this by installing the seat on top of the stock mounts, raising the slope about an inch. Much better on long rides ;-)

I know your trying to sell a seat, but how did you do this with the mounts? This sounds interesting.

The covers on these seats are way, way more quality than what the bike comes with. On top of being more comfortable, it looks better.
The seat has two prongs that slide under the gas tank bracket. I fabricated an additional bracket out of 1/8" steel plate that bolted over the existing mount.
This allowed me to slide the seat prongs in between. So, if you picture it, the seat prongs were on top of the gas tank mount, and under my new mount. I lined the insertion area with some dry slide we use here at work. It's kind of like teflon. It worked real well, I may still have the bracket laying around somewhere as I removed it when I traded the bike.

Still avail?
do the gel seats raise you up any?
bummer. Does it decrease height?
Might be just a touch shorter than stock. A bit more of a pocket it feels like to me.
Cr*p. I guess custom is the way to go. I can't afford to lose any seat height. Too cramped as it is.
Well, you can make a bracket and put the nose of the gel seat on top of the current spot. I believe Buelligan had did that. It gave a bit more room and raised the nose so less sliding into the tank.

I was going to try that as well but have stopped any more "development" efforts on the Ninja since I am going to sell it. I bought a gel seat just to try and to compare it to my modded seat.

I believe this is the seat I bought last year, modified it and it ended up in the hands of Seth. Its no better than stock Rock.
