Exhaust mods

Anybody got rid of that fugly exhaust can under the bike yet? I guess the official term is "pre-chamber" but #2 on my mod list after cleaning up the tail is cutting out that box. I believe the converters are in the 2 large pipes before the box and hopefully a sawzall with a long blade will, ahem, modify that. Then it's just a matter of connecting the two converter pipes to the pipes that run to the mufflers. A good exhaust shop should have no problem with the bends and welding. I am wondering if there should be some sort of connection between the two pipes before they get to the mufflers like an H-pipe on a car. Any ideas?

How much do you think this mod will end up costing you? I was just going to buy a new exhaust end. The stock one isn't doing it for me.
I also hate the stock exhaust, along with a tail tidy kit it's on top of my list.
But I think i will wait for aftermarket options, specifcally an underslung exhaust
What year Ninja 1000 are you referring to?
Don't 2011-2014 have the same exhaust set-up? 2014 has a different cosmetic can.

I thought we already had a thread covering exhaust.
Can't see it costing more than $200. Finding an exhaust shop that can get a bike up in the air for work will be the problem.

Thats what im assuming, i did notice some exhaust makers didn't update their listings for 2014, maybe they're just late or some differences?

you need to show me where you shop :D
I think Delkevic can provide two carbon fiber cans for under $500.
Delkevic systems are high quality too, what other brands would you consider?
Everyone's seen Yoshi carbon fiber and stainless steel exhausts on N1k.
They look great and the cost matches.

I know Delkevic is less expensive but I don't know how their 13" tri ovals will look on the N1K.

I had experience with Delkevic DS70 on a Ninja 300. Great price, quality is close enough to Yoshi, value is high.

I don't know what else would look good.

As I asked before on the original exhaust thread, "Does anyone have any feedback/pictures on what they've used?
A short straight pipe would look amazing, clean up the side profile a lot, it's a look i would go for. Combine that with a tail tidy and you have one nice looking rear.

my mistake, there were pictures but no feedback.
Somebody slipped in a delkevic on a N300.

i love the no exhaust sound but it's too bad where i live cops will crack down on me in no time. its better than buying an exhaust, but if i had to it would be an akra exhaust

nah yo not true at all. You run open pipes and you've gone and fiddled with the back pressure. Sure you might make half a horsepower more at the top of the powerband but honestly how often is anyone operating at the very top of the band?

No top end gain is worth it if the gains are all stolen from the lows and mids, thats where you need it.
It's hard to beat the carbon Yoshi for looks and quality.

Has anyone installed a slip on? What's the story about the cable assembly inside the right exhaust.
