Thank you all for the input of the 10r and n1k. Pretty much going with the n1k. Are there differences between the 2019 and 2018 model besides color? I found a couple 2018 left overs I think I can get a better deal on. Also the best insurance price would be appreciated. Thanks again keep riding

Here in India, it is not even a difference in colours. The 2019 has a big sticker on the side fairing and has reflectors near the front forks. Other than that there is nothing else.

Lakona, there are no differences between the 2018 and 2019 except cosmetics. Kawasaki.com is advertising sales incentives on both model years, $1500 and $1000 off the 2018 and 2019 respectively.

The differences are probably just different cameras and different exposures. The first pic is way over-exposed and the second looks about right. Cameras also adjust color based on what it judges to be the light source. The first pic looks like it's under florescent lights, the second, no extra lighting.

If I remember correctly Kawasaki through in one small change on the 2019, they changed the display from white on black on the 2017 & 2018 to black on white for 2019.

They did something similar with the 2016, they through in the slipper clutch. The 2014 and 2015 were identical but sans the slipper clutch.

What tidbit will they give us in 2022?

Verrrry interesting. While Kawasaki's official literature still referred to the 2019's instruments as having an LCD negative display (i.e. white characters on dark background) like previous models, you can find photos showing 2019s in dealerships with LCD positive displays. Dash panels for 2017 to 2019 show a common part number so this is a running change in parts spec, perhaps from a different supplier.

I'd like to try a 2019 dash if the LCD panel backlighting could be swapped to red LEDs. For my eyes that's much better at night. Green is pretty good, too. White is too bright and blue makes everything look fuzzy and low contrast. Been there, done that: Aprilia RST1000 Futura.

I checked www.kawasakipartshouse.com and found what you found, they show part number 25031-0836 as the meter assembly common to 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Then I checked www.partzilla.com and they show part number 25031-0836 for 2017 & 2018 but show 25031-0735 for the 2019.

The plot thickens...

Babbitt's shows the -0735 as also being for 2017 through 2019, same as the -0836. From the diagrams, those model years share the same wiring harness part number, so all the instrument connectors would be identical. If those are the same I'd be very confident that the dash inputs and outputs are too, therefore the panels should be functionally 100% interchangeable.

It would make sense if Kawasaki distinguished between the 2017-2018 and the 2019 panel part numbers, so a customer would receive like for like, but the question remains which is which?

Over the phone, Lazlo at Go AZ Motorcycles in Scottsdale was kind enough to switch on his 2019 for an LCD backlighting check. He says it's white.
