Clutch sounds odd when pulling out in first.

Sounds like the disk brakes on my mountain bike when they squeel when pulling out from a stop.

Not sure if it goes away after a while as i have only ridden it 20 miles.

Read on these forums that this is common with this clutch as it has a hard time getting enough oil to the plates.

Not sure if its a must that i do the mod where you drill holes in the clutch, or just save up a little and get the Versys slipper clutch.

thoughts?

The stock clutch works just fine, and that mod is free.

Dont get me wrong, I love the slipper clutch. The pull is so light , its comical. Its smooth, quiet, and the bike feels better with it in there, but....well, free is always tough to compete with.

I just did the "rcannon409 approved" clutch mod and it went exactly per the instructions and the result is how I would have hoped the machine would have performed out of the factory - bummer that Kawasaki disavows the problem and makes new owners start drilling bikes that are brand new but such is life.

I've got a mind to try the slipper clutch mod but as he says above, free is tough to beat...
