Chain Guard Reinstall

1964 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  SailorJack
I did my first oil change at 600 miles, piece if cake, took a few minutes. Then I thought I would clean and lube the chain. It took a couple minutes to get the chain guard with it unusual fasteners. I did the chain then went to reinstall the chain guard. It took me an hour to do that. Is there a trick to this? Next time I will remove the left muffler to get in there and reinstall the fasteners.

Why take it off?

Exactly, I lube the chain from below the swingarm while rotating the rear wheel. In and out in under 2 minutes.
Ok, I will clean from the bottom side next time, thanks. I guess that I am just used to being on top, thanks, Bart
Yeah, I first tried taking off the chain guard but after the first screw I realized I could be done with the job by the time I got to the second screw.
