I know we all have our favorite waxes, but what's up with everything and "ceramic"?

I wouldn't bother asking, but I swear to you, I saw a bottle of wax that was 39.99 for a small-ish container. It was at Wal Mart, of all places. I saw this stuff. If I spend 40, for wax, is it worth it, or do I end up on the sucker list?

I've always liked the Orange bottle, new finish. It's like 7.00 for the same size.

Tell me, please, before I drop 40 on their just to get an answer.

This is the stuff I've used since I was 10 yrs old. I'm guessing technology may have changed since 1930, or whenever I was a kid. This stuff still works wellno complaints

I use the meguiars spray on ceramic wax on the bikes and cars.
Really easy to use. First time you just spray it on the wet car/bike after washing and then you dry it off. After that first time, you just spray it on when the car is still wet, rinse it down again and dry off.

Ive seen that. Sounds like iiits easy to use? What is so special about ceramic? It's like the new version of Teflon that older guys, like myself or kenors grew up on.

It's confusing because the cost is all over the place with cermic.

I like this. My 15+ year old tin of Meguiars paste wax is about gone. This new stuff sounds a lot easier to use.

I like that it can (or should I say: must) be used on a wet surface. The only other polish/wax you can use like that is the pink stuff from smartwax. But that's also a polish, so it removes little scratches and swirls, and it thin layer of paint or clear coat in the process.

I have been using Griots spray ceramic on my cars. It’s simple to use, very cheap and I’m impressed at how long it lasts. About every six months seems to be how often I’ll reapply. Probably could go longer, but I like my vehicles really slick.

The car just needs to be clean. I can do the whole car in thirty minutes or so. A $20 bottle looks like it will probably get me 6-8 applications. Bought it at auto zone.

Jjs, I just ordered the 19.99 spray container from Amazon. I probably need to wait until it gets warm.

This happens to be an interesting thread becasue I'm the the process of doing my own testing on some of the new products. I watched a number on online tests and out of the new ones it appeared the 303 Graphene was the best followed by the Turlte Wax Hybrid solutions and then the Mothers and McGuires. The specialty brands don't top the ratings anymore despite being 2-3x the price. So I bought the 303 Graphene. I also bought some of the Turtle Wax hydrid solutions car wash.

I've done both washing and sprayed my car in different locations to test and I can say 2 things conclusively, the TW hybrid wash does protect and last. The 303 Graphene is amazing. Water still beads on that part of my hood where the old style synthetic sealants have worn out through the harsh winter. Of course that applies to the tank on my bike also, but it hasn't been outsdie since Thanksgiving.

I'm sure any of those top 4 new ceramics are good, but I feel confident saying the 303 graphene is the best unless you go true ceramic sealant like the Carpro or Avalon King.

I’ve had good results with Mothers ceramic spray. Use it on my car and bike. Lasts for about 3-4 months before I need to reapply. Beads water really good and dirt comes off much easier

I suspect that the products mentioned above, including mine, are like crab cakes. Some just have more “fillers” than others. Probably not much difference.

The ChemGuys stuff works great. ordered by amazon or like their facebook page and you can find coupon codes np....been using a lot of their stuff for about 5 years and never had any issue and always felt like it did great for the price.

once you use it, it does make the next cleaning faster as stuff doesn't stick as bad that's for sure.

Jjs, you can't laugh when I ask this, you just can't....

I got the stuff you suggested, from Amazon. Have you used it in colder temps? I'm probably looking at 40 degrees.

I know you are too smart to live in a place where this 40 degree thing happens, but it's worth a shot to ask.

The stuff JJS suggested arrived, last night. It was maybe 40 degrees when I used it, today. That's really nice stuff.

I can see a difference on the c14, and it wasn't dirty to begin with. I'm anxious to see how it does with bugs, this summer. I think they might rinse right off with this on the car. Amazon, 19.99 and it smells good. Unlike the stuff Rock said I needed.

Does the dust really not stick? Even to the wheels? I seem to be always using Meguiar's Quik Detailer to clean the dust off of my wheels...and to get the bugs off the front. Anything to help with the bugs from sticking would be great. I typically just use Eagle 1 nanowax as it is what I have used for a long time. Maybe I should start to look for something better....one of these ceramics.
