Hello all, a used dealership near me is selling a pristine 2016 Ninja1000 with 900 miles. $8400 OTD seems to good to pass up. It was owned by 1 senior man. They have no maintenance history on the bike, but im assuming it may not have gotten it's first break-in service. Aside from buying new tires right away, what sorts of things should i be considering to check for before i can consider it worthy of taking on trips? Cheers

Things I would consider - change rear tire profile, get ecu flashed (read the other threads - it’s a must), longer windshield, aftermarket seat.

Most of the rest of the items I can think are more preference and not as much a “have to”.

of course these are just random ideas.

At that age it should get all the fluids changed even with no miles. A good inspection of all the soft hoses. Probably the battery if it's original. 5 years is about the age they start to fail no matter how good they've been maintained. A good cleaning and lubing of the chain is in order as well.
