Are there other forums around the N1K? I'm looking for a very active one....

More chatter but not as specific to the n1k as us:

4th Gen Z1000/Ninja 1000

several of us our over there as well.
I hang around in the one gary suggested, but more active (and Great Britain based) is Kawasaki Z1000SX Forum - Index
So you don't appreciate the tumbleweed rolling across the forum.

Is it a matter of having more members?
I for one, sure hope this forum picks ups. I like they way this forum is setup (except the time limit on editing a post, just why?), but the tumble weeds have me wanting. A few more members would help I'm sure. Maybe we need to put the word out a little more?
Single model forums tend to be quieter than other more broadly based forums. It's really the nature of the beast. As such I only check on here a couple times a week. I actually rather enjoy it. Not so much useless chatter.

I check this forum several times a day - yeah I am that bored. But I think we have pretty good group here (read troll free). Maybe we can use this forum to organize some rides over the summer, I know several of us are a day trip from the dragon.

Otherwise we can just wave to each other on the road knowing that we are a special lot that most manufacturers forgot about :)
As I referenced in my intro on this site last week, I am really looking for a strong group of technical discussions about this bike. There is a lot of good info here, but some is dated and it seems to take awhile to get responses. My old bike was a M109r and there was a great forum there. Guys posted step by step pictures of everything from changing their oil, removing fairings, all the way up to doing complex things like changing swingarms. I was just curious if there was another site that had more of this type of reference material. Maybe we can just build that here ourselves. Things like taking off the fairings, overall maintenance, and any other time you work on the bike. Pictures, step by steps are awesome.

Thanks guys
some of you may want to check Meetup.com, and look for a sport riding or sport touring group in your area.
That may give you the local riding group, and online chat you are looking for.
I check here daily, as I check other message boards for the other brands I own.
I've been on badweatherbikers.com, a Buell message board since I bought my first Buell back in 1995. it's a VERY active board since it encompasses all things Buell.
Lots of local, national, and worldwide chat areas.
I use the meetup site to find local riders to ride with, when I get bored riding alone...

OK, now I hate you. I try to get to the Dragon once a year or so, but it's tough, as I live so friggin far away. Fantastic road. First rode it in the early 90s - almost no-one else there. Last visit was this past September.
LOL, don't hate. It is about 400 miles from me. Not exactly in my backyard.
OK, you're back on my good guy list. To get to Deals Gap is a 740 mile trip for me.
Shoulda realized you were not next door to the Gap - your profile says Westerville, OH (I went to school in Delaware Ohio).
Warprints,
Just head up into Arkansas. Plenty of roads as good, if not better than the Dragon in northern Ark...
The Dragon is highly over-rated. It's just 11 miles. It's more like a lizards tail compared to where I ride in Arizona.
Hwy 666, the devils highway. 92 miles and over 5000 curves, and more than 3500' elevation change. Now THAT's a ride worth bragging about. ;-)
Curvy roads are everywhere. I'm sure you can find some closer to you.
Now I am jealous!

Actually my main stomping ground is Hocking Hills near Athens, OH.

You moved away from central ohio ? Your old house is probably worth a fortune now! I am actually moving over to Pataskala - country living ya know :)
Sorry Trublupsu94, I think this thread has been completely hijacked.
Buelligan - Difficult to find any truly curvy roads in south Louisiana, but not impossible. I make it up into Arkansas occasionally, and ride around the Ozarks. Beautiful up there.
That's great. No problem. Anything to raise the chatter!

I just found a UK based forum I like:

www.z1000sx.co.uk

Lots of technical info and pictures. Also much more current interaction. I came from a BMW forum, and I think some of those guys sit at the computer waiting for a post to respond to.

Also, extensive, picture littered ride reports. We could do that. There's a good deal of enjoyment in sharing those pictures and thoughts generated by the ride.

I like the idea of ride reports... kind of cool to see where people are riding and who they are riding with. I know I'd write up some reports.

Just signed up there!
I'd like to meet up with some folks in the Houston area who have the N1K. Be fun to take an Austin or SA trip.
