I recently swapped full system exhaust on my '23 R1 in preparation for track season and now i am considering doing the same on my 2016 N1k. Looking to get the akro system and the ecu flash from a local mechanic who specializes in race prepping bikes. I don't plan on racing the Ninja1000, mostly just want to remove the emissions restrictions and those ugly stock exhausts. Will the ECU flash affect any rider aids such as TC or ABS? Any extra tips are appreciated. Thanks

On the older bikes, no one has had any issues with a flash and traction control abs . The system wasn't complicated and tolerated modifications .

TC and ABS will not be affected in any way. Tuners are mostly playing with fuel tables, and disabling emissions and noise bits, like fuel cut, and having the secondary butterfly valves in the throttle bodies remain wide open at all times. These bikes respond very well to headers and a tune, the amount of low and mid-range grunt gained is very noticeable.

Ivan has a better flash than you can get from a local tuner. Although the local tuner has your specific bike, the local guy doesn't have ECU access to several of the low end restrictions and other "things" Ivan is able to work with.

I bought my 16 N1K with the yoshi slip-ons. Sounded great. I added delkovic headers and got Ivan's tune, it is a completely different motorcycle in all the right ways. Can't recommended enough, especially the tune. The improvement in engine braking alone is worth it. Ivan's local to me, and he's a good dude who takes his work seriously. BTW, delkovic headers will work for OEM luggage, if that's a concern for anyone.

Did you get to take your bike to Ivan so you could see his bikes? He usually has what's on the dream list.
