I think the cans on the 14 may flow better, but overall 13 and earlier just made more power than the 14-16 and probably over the 17+.

I've always wondered whether the new style cans were less restrictive and how they compared for weight. Never saw any real numbers either way......

A Face Book N1K member was swapping out 1st gen cams on his 2nd gen bike last week. His name is Sam Jean and he seems very savvy, from what I can gather he is doing his own fueling and using some type of data logger for numbers on power and AFRs. I've never looked into it that deep so really haven't a clue what he's using but with @57x and everyone else including I believe TMR eluding to the 2013 being stronger because of the cams it looks like he is in search o find out. I wish him luck.

Our late friend, Jay, used a set of zx9 cams in his ported jead. He did a dyno run, and got 147hp.

He was pissed until he remembered his fuel was 2 years old. Sadly, he did not live long enough to get that second run.

I have an 05 Z750S (original idea of the Ninja 1000) with an 05 Z1000 engine that has ZX9R cams/springs, ported head, thin head gasket, Connie 1400 throttle bodies/injectors, Leo Vince full exhaust. I hope to have it on the dyno soon. I am hoping it is north of 150hp.

This is what I call my Frankenstein bike. ZX14R swingarm and wheels. ZX10R Big Piston forks. Brembo masters front and rear. CRG GP clutch lever/perch. CBR 1000 calipers (same calipers are used on the Ninja 1000. Braided lines. I'll never get the money back out of it if I sell it.

@57x I can't see you ever getting even what you have into labor out of it. Than again my guess is that's not what your going for.
Have you come up with estimated weight yet?

@rcannon409 did anyone ever hear where TMRs bike went?

418 lbs. dry. I just scaled it. It has no oil, gas or radiator fluid. No Blinker fluid either.

I think I just got the very last new 03-06 Z1000 Clutch Cover. It took over three months to get here. They cancelled the order, then contacted me to say it showed up after all. I finally got all the covers on, and they are all new, pretty ones. All that is left is install the link on the chain, hook up blinkers, put in fluids and see if it will start with all these crazy mods.

So a gallon of oil = 7lbs
2 gallons of antifreeze = 18lbs
5 gallons of gasoline = 56lbs

This will make the bike around 495 lbs, or a pig!

I think it was a family friend who sold it for Jays dad. I sent them a complete list of the mods Jay had done. They both thanked me for that, but I have nomodea where it went, from there.

I've always halfway expected someone to show up and think we were all nuts because his used ninja is a rocket, and has good suspension.
