I'm going Saturday or Monday to look at what I believe to be a 07 N500R. I'm basing year from its color of Metallic Titanium with Solar Yellow tribal flames. Can anybody tell me of another year that had that combination.?
A buddy of mine that deals in classic cars found it and told me about it but not sure of the year.

Back story is husband at 62 passed about a year ago and she has finally decided to sell his collection of toys. Classic cars, sports cars, boat, motorcycles and such that she doesnt use. Both husband and wife were surgeons and and she still has their practice. Very wealthy I'm told.

So I've seen three pictures of the bike and it looks to be stored in a shop with the cars and is really clean on the left side front and rear. Looks to have a tender hooked to it but no real close ups though..... but blowing it up I think I could see what looked to be 15 miles on the odometer which she is claiming it says. Now I would find that hard to believe but wow could you imagine. She believes he bought it new in 09 or 10 but says she never remembers him riding it other then the first day.
Any way she was asking 1500 but we are already at 1300 on the phone and that's only if the tires are good and no more then 5 years old.

Anyone familiar enough with the 500R to give me some clues on what to look out for specific to that bike? I'm mean if the milage is correct then its tires, hoses, fluids, check the fork seals, brake seals and motor for leaks and roll. But I'm not holding my breath and would like to plan for a more realistic milage for its age.

Really stoked about it and hope it pans out as the plans are to give it to the youngest who turned 16 yesterday . That would put three of us on bikes when my oldest gets the front forks rebuilt on the ZX6.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Kenneth

Those bikes are bullet proof. Probably just fresh fluids and tires and go. Fork seals and hoses are probably fine. If he put it away without draining the float bowls, the carbs might need cleaning but no big deal. Go for it.

I have had two of these and really liked them- They are terrific trainer bikes and make great all purpose knock about machines. They are smooth enough and have just enough poke to keep one entertained on the highway, get decent fuel mileage, and spares are easy and cheap. The one I own now is being used as a track day bike by my niece, and is essentially stock but for the suspension.

Weaknesses have been plug wires and caps, and they are softly sprung and need suspension work if run hard. On one with as few miles as what you are looking at ai would change the oil, replace the battery if needed, and enjoy.

Well the sale of the bike is pending a valid title but it looks to be a done deal at 1300. Bike has an actual 19 miles on it. UNREAL.
There is a scratch in the fairing on the left side and the rubber on both front blinker mounts are damaged and wont hold the mirrors up properly. So I've started a list first off does anyone have some Metallic Titanium touch up laying around? LOL
Hopefully we'll close the deal Monday when the new title arrives.

I always think it's funny when people think our bikes get screwed over, insurance speaking, from being called "Ninja". Or, how did our bikes ever become "Ninjs" that's for the zx6 or zx10r, right? that's so, how did this bike last so long?

So, they buy this bike with at least 4 or 5 Miles on the odometer...ride it home, and that's it? Retirement from the sport?

Are you responsible for the past 20 years of license fees, or did they keep those current? Seriously, or was not at all uncommon to sell someone a motorcycle. They HAD to ride it before they got any training, or instruction.....they HAD to. At which point , the motorcycle scared the shit out of them, and was abandoned in the garage . Very common with 2 stroke dirt bikes, but this ninja is fast enough to scare people, too. If you go back to the original zx10, this bike was released at a similar time and was basically 1/2 of that zx10 motor, so it's no puss machine.

Texas is funny, if you buy a vehicle you only owe from the date of purchase unless its registration is current and then it only costs a few dollars to transfer it to your name. Now as an owner if you skip years then you pay all that's been missed unless there are major repair records.
