Finally caught ever thing just right, got home and the temperature was just right 68 degrees, looked at the two bikes sitting there begging to be rode. I cranked them both up at the same time and listened to the sound of a 4- cylinder and twin cylinder hitting a lick, went in the house and i could hear the exhaust notes of both bikes, come back out turned them off and saddled up the nk1 first, it was needing some charge any way so i figured might as well run at some higher RPM's to put some juice in that battery, brought it back and took out the N400 and thrashed the hell out of it, im thinking you dont get many chances like this in january, temperature is dropping like a rock tonight, cold the next few days.

@Mark59 Charge the batteries and the soul, that's how you do it.
I'm at a waiting point on others here and I'm thinking of taking Friday off with the weekend. I'm just a adviser on installation of "contra trace" and "contra heat" systems on this one so not a big deal when their not installing any. Might ride the bike back home and take the back roads to do it.

Got to hit the iron while its hot..much more fun charging battery riding than trickle charging...i do the same thing, i am always looking for a reason ---- getting fuel is one of my favorites.....always takes 20 miles even if the gas station os only 2 miles away

I find that when the opportunity to charge the batteries in the winter arises I ride real aggressive to make up for lost time, the kid would give me a thrashing if she seen how I was twisting her 400, still amazed at the acceleration on the 400 when you don’t hold back.

I had the kz650 back in 1982, or so. Look at is specs as compared to the ninja 400. Very similar power levels and the 400 is 125lbs lighter....pretty amazing, really. Enjoy your vintage bikes, but they are a complete joke as compared to whats available now.

I watched some races a while back from in the mid to late 70s, 600's 650's and 700's I think they were. These looked like they were straight off the line factory production bikes still with spoke rim's and banana seats. In the straights they would come out of the corner with there feet on the rear pegs put their hand on the shifter with helmet chin damn near on the handle bar clamps. It was weird watching them shift with there hand but many of them did it. Wish I could remember what they called the race. Found this pic though. look at the drum brakes. Anyone know what year and model that bike is.

Probably not this specific year, but it does resemble this machine.

@rcannon409 that sent me in the right direction I think. Might be a 1969 to 72 T250. Looks like the GT models had disc brakes, then theres the 200 but it had a single down tub and the 300 had them outside the exhaust pipes. Still not sure though.

I read a story today that a Bird Box challenge is getting started. Its where people are blind folding theirselves and trying to drive... like in the movie. I think I'll completely lose what little religion I have left and beat the piss out of them if it happened to me. Ok so at least try, but damn would I be mad. They said at least two confirmed accidents because of it so far and one was in Utah and the other in Texas. Sad.
