Well guys i got a verses clutch cable, I have murphs risers and the cable is about 4 inches longer and it has the bend in it. I just went online and looked at the newer 2017 bike and it has the bend in the clutch cable. I'm going to get that one also, I know it will fit. Sorry not good at pictures.

My new cable arrived, and it for sure has the bend in it, only this time, it's on purpose. Nice find.

It's funy how you forget just how slick new cables are. The internal cable will slide if you tip it over.

The reason I have a 1000 is because the cable on my 650R snapped over two hours from home.

I could tell something was off, but I thought it was the clutch was going. Turns out it was the cable tearing off at the end and not fully engaging the clutch.

Sadly I also have Rox risers, with a custom length cable so I couldn't get a fast replacement and this was prime riding season.

So while the 650R was down, I bought the 1k.

I now have a custom length cable on the 1k as well, maybe I should order a 2nd so this doesn't happen again. I don't want to have to buy an H2.

I ended up ordering that new clutch perch. The 2017 perch, and lever is different in that it has a real adjustable lever.

I should have looked closer and I could have saved some money. I think the color is different, but the perch is the same as the ninja 650 uses, meaning a used one, from eBay, would have worked just as well.

You guys who use accessories woukd like it. There is a cast in mount, for the mirror, that could be used for ??? I will install it, tomorrow, and see if I like it.

Installed, and tested. It's one of those small things, but still really nice to have. The clutch lever has a huge adjustment range (distance from bars), and the lever has a really normal, natural feel. It's a good upgrade, and avoids the lever nonsense we go through.

@rcannon409

So what exactly did you end up ordering? Did you get the combo with all parts, lever, perch, switch, the works? I've wanted to do this for a long time but not sure what to order...

Yes, they sell the assembly. Kawasaki Part number
46076-0121

Its the same neutral switch, but its attached. You wont need anything else besides this part to make the conversion. It was @ 80.00, or so.

If you can live with a silver clutch lever, this is a LOT cheaper, and is the "same" part, with the exception of a silver lever.

You might get some life, from an old cable, by lubing.....but, modern. ables are lined, and often times the lubricant just messes up the lining. If its bad enough to need lube, i just replace them. The cost is not THAT much.
