The good, the bad & the ugly

WARNING, Do not buy mirrors from Moto-Science !!
I recently did this to replace the antennas.
$98 a pair, fully adjustable, in length as well. ( THE GOOD )
But I needed to sell my first born for the express international postage cost to Australia.
Fair enough I’m a long way off. ( THE BAD)
Except they weren’t dispatched for 5 days & then took another 2 weeks in the post to arrive.
So I didn’t have them in time for an 11 day 4,000klm trip. Disappointed or what.
3 emails later to enquire, why would you accept payment for express post & then take 5 days to send the mirrors ?
& how can express post, quoted at 3 to 5 business days take 2 weeks ?
ZERO replies to my 3 emails. ( THE BAD )
Luckily BPAY went into it for me & 10 days later I’ve got a refund for the express postage (that wasn’t,) at least
Just a heads up you guys.
BPAY is better than a credit card payment
Moto-Science ( the mirror specialist )
There a joke & don’t reply to you
Go elsewhere

I buy parts that are shipped, from Italy. Thats normal. Next day air soon as we get to it, or whatever, or maybe not until October.

Are the mirrors good?

With due respect.
If you pay for express post you obviously want things in a hurry.
If they can’t be sent for 5 days you should be informed & refunded the postage
$47 is the difference I’ve now got back not $5 or $10,
& if the goods aren’t sent express after you’ve paid for it, there’s also a problem.
& to NOT reply to 3 Emails enquiring ???
As a company THEY STINK

JayDub, I dont mean to say you are not correct. You are, but thats how they roll. Our getting pissed at them wont change their culture.

Assuming they had good customer service, would you recommend the mirrors? Is the quality ok?

I ordered a Brembo rotor from an Italian company, just recently. They did ship quickly, so no problem there.

A few days later, I get a call from DHL. The nice girl told me the driver had made 3 delivery attempts, but no one was there to sign for my package. Yes, she sounded like the sister of Osama Bin Laden, but I was able to understand her. Mostly.

I decided to play along because I have a ring doorbell. If a butterfly stops at my front door, i know about it. There was never a delivery attempt. I had to drive out to the airport to get it.

JayDub, have you seen the "Ish" watch?

I think it is largely applicable to us Indians and Italians. When you ask someone here what time the meeting is, they will say "Around 12ish". And IST anecdotally translates to "Indian Stretchable Time".

I think RC was just being sarcastic and referring to the laid back nature of us peoples in general.

I don't condone they charged you and took so much, but more in line of setting expectations for future interactions

Have a good one.

RC, at least someone at DHL called you. Imagine if they didn't.

Agurudev, the "Ish" mentality applies to a lot of cultures.

If you're a Mexican-American, or just Mexican, they have what they refer to as "Manana" mentality. It translates to "Tomorrow" in Engrish. So they like to say, "You have a 'manana' mentality'...meaning no sense of urgency. It will happen eventually, sometime tomorrow, or maybe the next day. LOL!

This as opposed to the American mentality of, "I needed this 'yesterday' ". Meaning I don't have any patience and I'm in a big hurry, and I want this thing NOW! Or, I waited until the last minute and I needed this yesterday.

We have large First Nation/Indian population here,,learned much from some of them, one theme I had to wrap my head around was "Indian time" which in there own words were "we get there when we get there, it will be the right time" Strangely it works very well in their wold, something maybe we could use a bit more of.. imo

I have zero expectations for speed of delivery outside of my country. If I want something fast, I'll order domestically, and not only that, I'll make a phone call first to insure something is stocked.

A lot of times you can pay for fast shipping and it's an option on the web site but it just means they'll ship it as fast as they can... when it's in stock. You want something fast you better call. Obviously forget it if it's international and you don't speak their local language.

On a positive note, my Sargent seat arrived today, so they had to make it & then send it literally 1/2 way round the planet to Oz.
All achieved in 5 days.
