JayDub I test rode an xr1000 a while ago now & was really impressed in lots of ways.
A lot of punch in that motor.
Great brakes.
A bit of a crackle n pop from the exhaust.
But I went in another direction
Years later & i,m on a 2014 Ninja 1000 I’ve been improving
Akro headers, de-cat, Woolich tune, Wilbers shock & re-built front end.
It pops & crackles, nice character, handles really great. & pulls well
A friend rode it today, who recently did a Euro trip on a rental XR1000, some 3,500 klm
Out of the blue & with zero prompting he made my day by saying he liked my improved Ninja better than the XR
Made my week even.
Unexpected compliment
He’s another crusty old rider with decades of experience on dozens of bikes
I hadn’t thought of comparing the 2 bikes until he said this today.
Better, cheaper, easier maintenance & bullet proof Ninja gets my vote
Just need a better seat 💺 now
Photo in 11 day touring mode.
I can’t tell that gear is there at all

Mark59 You might have flashbacks if they cracked your chest open and worked on your heart valves like Rock.

rcannon409 I like how they make this technology sound new, fresh and innovative. They dont talk about looking in the zrx1200 folder for inspiration.
