What do you pay in motorcycle insurance?

I currently have my 2012 FZ6R insured full coverage through Progressive for $740 per year. I called and got a quote on a new 2014 Ninja 1000 and it went to $4000 per year. I have no tickets, no accidents nothing that would make my rates that high.

What do the rest of you pay and with who? I even called Geico and they were not much cheaper.

Friend just insured his Hybusa @ State Farm for cheap. They only look at the displacement not the bike type.

Called State Farm and they quoted me $703 per year for the same coverage that Progressive quoted me for $4000. Huge difference.

Not bad at all, you guys ever try the smaller insurance companies?
These are good rates coming from State Farm, I know some people say how expensive they can be.

I use a company called AMIG. Its far less than whats listed here, but I'm in Utah with a very short riding season.

Good company though. They take my money, and I get back...well, they are legit, I hope!

Frggin High insurance

Proggressive quoted me $1800 a year full coverage for my 2013 ninja 1000, no tickets or accidents and have been driving for 15 years. I went to state Farm and full coverage there was only $550, I save almost $1500! Seriously proggressive is not the best in motorcycle insurance like they say they are, its good coverage and all and the medical is nice but hardly worth that kind of premium, Id go with State Farm. Shoot even Erie insurance, who doesnt normally do motorcycle policies, was able to get me to about $900, still way too high but half of Proggressive.

AMIG is a good option. I'm probably the very best category of person to insure. 49, married, no accidents or tickets. Plus, 5 different driving certificates saying I'm safe.

Progressive tried to run up in me. Geico was horrible, too. AMIG was 340.00 per year. Less had I been able to find my Motorcycle safety card.

Progressive was 10 times that, for a ninja 1000.
