First pictures 2017 SX

The new SX has leaked, before Intermot.

Motormeuk - Nieuws: Kawasaki verklapt 2017 Z1000SX

Power stays the same, fairings & headlight changed, and the engine casing seems different as well (height of the pistons).

Wheelbase 5mm shorter, ground clearance -5mm & seat height 5mm lower as well, and +4 kg. (8 pounds)

Both headlights seem to be on as well ... that's an improvement.

Not sure I like the new styling. the duotone color sheme kinda messes up the lines more then the previous model.
Kinda dissapointed, I expected a much bigger update.

I like the looks, but fatter, and shorter, nope. Also I almost forgot how hideous the headlight assembly was!

Nice find....I wonder if the h2 owners are ok with their "limited edition" bikes being produced for 15, 16, and 17?

Turn signals are worse than we have. I wonder where the weight loss is from?

My guess on the wheelbase is they changed gearing. One might change gearing is they used the versys 100 transmission, which would be very nice, and a definate upgrade.

Experience, you know what disappoints me?

I'd imagine redesigning plastic, and new molds to cost way more than a good rear shock.

If this is all they planned, why not treat it like they did the zx10r? Same old look, but seriously upgraded shock, fork and brakes.

Angelo, it must be the look you like? Mechanically, it's the same. Lots of money for new plastic

rear seat seem to have more padding as well.
Front seat seems to be different in shape.

There is no weight loss, there is weight gain

It seems they lowered only the rear, which will make it harder to steer

Yes, that +4 is only a good thing if we are talking about gold bars, is'nt it? I mis read that.

The rear seat looks different, too.

That lower rear end is interesting as the bike needed higher....Unless the front was lowered, too?

Maybe we are not who they are lookign for. I think we are old sport bike guys who need more comfort.

They appear to want guys who are upgrading form ninja 650's/

I think the rear suspension has been changed as well.

Rear suspension travel has been changed from 138mm to 144mm
together with the lowered seat ...
Seems most obvious they changed the rear shock.
